Traveling by Sea to The Great Barrier Reef

We headed out to the harbor where we soon boarded our boat, we would spend the next three days with 30 other people diving the Great Barrier Reef. It was very rough with 10 foot swells as we headed out to sea. I had to go lie down for a while to avoid getting sick, while a number of other passengers let loose over the side of the boat.

Once it calmed down we set up our equipment and checked in to our room.

We did our first dive and I was amazed at the visibility. We saw a few baby sharks and some huge clams. That night it was still too rough so we passed on the night dive and sat down for diner. I have to say some of the best meals we had were on the boat, the chief was amazing.
